HALF THE
YEAR IN
REVIEW

29 May, 2021

It was the 21st of January, 2021 sometime around 1:30 AM that I finished a beginner HTML and CSS course that I had started roughly about 3 hours earlier. I then started exploring the Web Development stream as a whole. I read a few articles on Javascript, ReactJS and a few other topics and I was encaptured by these topics. So I took a little time out, made myself a learning path which I would strictly follow. It's mentioned below for your reference:

  • HTML
  • CSS
  • Work on a building a website with the tools I've learnt above
  • Javascript
  • Work on building a website with the tools I've learnt above
  • ReactJS
  • Build web applications with the above tools
I did these and then there a few updates and chanes in the plan as discussed below:
  • Moved on NextJS
  • Build an application using NextJS
  • Learn Java for the Back-end
This to a good extent makes me a front-end developer. But there are always other tools one can use; for example: GraphQL, a query language which shortens the code usage.

Was this all I did in the last 4 months?

Nope! I worked on C++ and Java, built a few applications based on real life problems faced by me and a few others! A very obvious question in your mind would be "why do both C++ and Java?"; I started of with C++ as it was a part of the curriculum at my college. Anyhow, I had to move to Java since my plan is to use Java for Server-Side Rendering and the back-end.I'm currently working on Data Structures and Algorithms on both C++ and Java!
To sum all this up, the last 6 months have been amazing! This is something that has been giving me all happiness in the world since day 1 and today, looking back at this journey feels really peaceful deep down.
Ofcourse I couldn't do it all without the help of a few people who were there for when I was stuck on a problem, or a concept. So a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has been a part of my journey, even if it was a tiny contribution to my growth :)
